Shop Name:  My Honeypickles

Description:  Hey y’all! My name is Stephanie Steadham and I’m the My Honeypickles girl. People always ask where on earth I came up with the name My Honeypickles. It’s not really something you hear every day, so I’m here to answer that question once and for all. When my daughter was younger we had honeysuckle bushes outside our home. Almost every time she passed those bushes she’d smile and say “Those Honeypickles smell so good!” To this day, I have no idea how she came up with that name, but it never failed to bring a smile to my face. So sometime last year when I decided to start a website to sell my art, one of the first questions I had to answer was what to call my business. I wanted something original that wouldn’t be easy to forget and of course only one name came to mind. My hope is that my art will bring a smile to your face just like my daughter’s silly name for her favorite flower did for me so many years ago.

Since I was a little girl, there have been very few things I loved more than the beach and art, but between trying to have a family and a “real job”, my art somehow got pushed to the back burner. When I got the idea for these crosses, though, I knew it was time to make my art a priority again. I started out not too sure of what to expect or how they would look, but after only a few tweaks here and there I was happy with the final product. My Honeypickles was officially in business. That was in early spring 2011 and I haven’t looked back since. I believe sea shells are a part of nature that belongs in any home, coastal or countryside. My goal is to make the beach a part of everyday life instead of just one week out of the summer and I hope my crosses and paintings help to make that possible. Thank you for shopping at My Honeypickles and remember you can shake the sand from your shoes, but it’ll never leave your soul!!
